body

SUMMARY:

The Position Allocation List (PAL) establishes the number of full-time regular positions that are budgeted and filled. The PAL also establishes which allocations are over-filled, unfunded, or if they have a sunset date due to limited duration funding or over-fill status. The PAL can only be changed by City Council approval.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:

On June 17, 2025, the City Council last approved the Position Allocation List.

On June 16, 2026, the City Council considered approval of the new FY2026/27 Budget.

DISCUSSION:

There are no new changes in allocated positions within the FY2026/27 Budget from the previous years’ budget.

While the numbers did not change, the PAL has been significantly updated this year to reflect the funding source for each position. Funding sources are broken into three main categories: Government Funds, Enterprise Funds and Grant Funds. Government Funds are further broken into General Fund and Other. A Notes section has been added to give clarity to positions that may have multiple funding sources.

CITY FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
