SUMMARY:
On March 18, 2026, staff applied for the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Office of Wildland Fire (OWF) Slip-On Tanker Program. The application included a request for a mounted slip-on tanker to be installed on the RBFD’s International 4800 4X4 Stake Side Truck. This slip-on tanker unit would provide an additional mobile water supply that can be quickly deployed during wildfire incidents, locally or as part of our mutual aid program
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
None; the City of Red Bluff has not applied for this funding opportunity in the past
DISCUSSION:
The addition of these funds and this project will serve to support and aid firefighters with suppression efforts by providing a mounted slip-on tanker to be installed on the RBFD’s International 4800 4X4 Stake Side Truck. This slip-on tanker unit would provide an additional mobile water supply that can be quickly deployed during wildfire incidents, locally or as part of our mutual aid program.
